Engineering eligibility criteria

The eligibility requirements for various engineering courses offered by Bangalore engineering institutes varied. Students interested in pursuing technical education through Engineering Courses at any of Bangalore's engineering institutes must meet the AICTE's eligibility requirements.


  1. Undergraduate course eligibility criteria:

Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) (B-Tech)


  • Applicants must have completed their 10+2/ 12th Standard/ 2nd PUC or an equivalent examination from a recognized university or board.

  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics must have been required topics in the candidate's second PUC test.

  • They must have a combined score of not less than 60% in all of the above-mentioned subjects.

  • Candidates who have completed a three-year diploma program granted by the Board of Technical Education with a minimum score of 45 percent can apply for a lateral entry admission to the second year of the undergraduate program.


  1. Eligibility norms for Postgraduate courses:

Master of Engineering (M. E) and Master of Technology (M. T) eligibility requirements (M.Tech)


  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in technical education from an accredited university or board.

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in technical education from an accredited university or board.


  1. Minimum prerequisites for Doctoral Programs:

Applicants must hold a Master's degree from an accredited university.
